Our Society
The Cumbria Family History Society was founded to help members carry out their genealogy researches and our area of interest is the modern county of Cumbria, which is the old counties of Cumberland and Westmorland and a part of Northern Lancashire and North Yorkshire.

The Publishing programme covers a range of Cumbrian Genealogy topics including

Probate and Burial Indexes
Parish Registers transcripts

available from the online Shop.
The society produces quarterly Newsletters sent by post (or e-mail) to all members in March, June, September and December. The full Newsletter archive is available on this site for members. Contributions to the Newsletter are always welcome. Members are encouraged to submit their research interests.
Zoom speaker meetings are organised by our London Branch.
Regular weekend and one day conferences are held in Cumbria.

We manage a FaceBook page with over 3500 Worldwide participants for enquiries and sharing information. We also support list-cumbria an international email list for Cumbrian genealogy.
For local members and visitors to the County we provide a drop-in help and advice service.
